Hike Kidz Foundation focuses on basic needs, crisis support, and practical solutions for local children and families who need them most. We don’t believe in duplicating resources that already exist. We identify gaps in our community and build targeted programs to meet needs that aren’t being met elsewhere. Our approach is simple: know the need, measure the impact, use resources wisely, and be transparent about the results. We believe in doing what we say, helping with dignity, and recognizing the power of partnership. Our impact is stronger because of the schools, organizations, businesses, donors, volunteers, and community members who work alongside us. BOXES OF BASICS
Hike Kidz Foundation is a referring partner for Boxes of Basics in Warren County, connecting qualifying local children with boxes of essential clothing in sizes newborn through youth size 16. Families in need can apply through Hike Kidz Foundation, and eligible applications are referred to Boxes of Basics to help ensure children have the clothing essentials they need to thrive.

HOLD MY HEART
Hold My Heart serves students with significant needs who are referred directly through Warren County Public Schools. Referred students receive a Hike Kidz voucher, and our team works to fulfill their identified basic needs with dignity. Hold My Heart also connects assistance with art: community members can sponsor a student, and sponsors receive a hand-painted ceramic heart created through the program—a reminder of the child and community their generosity helps serve.

2 out of 5 children face clothing insecurities. National Clothing Insecurity Awareness Day is observed annually on September 15th to shine a light on the hidden crisis of lacking adequate, clean, and properly fitting clothing.
CLOTHE THE KIDZ
Clothe the Kidz helps local students start the school year feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn with new, choice-based clothing and essential supplies. Our volunteers shop alongside students in stores and help older students select clothing online, providing support that can include everything from clothing and shoes to backpacks, water bottles, and hygiene essentials. In 2026, Clothe the Kidz reached a milestone with our largest distribution to date, providing clothing and support to 407 local students in need with the help of more than 80 volunteers.
IF I COULD I WOULD
The "If I could. I would..." program is designed to reach the children and let them know they can dream big, want many things and that when you ask you may receive. We have partnered with many local extracurricular organizations to help provide opportunities that may not otherwise have been possible. We received our first grant for this program from our local Target.
COMMUNITY HUB
The Community Hub was created after we identified a gap in our community: no centralized location where essential items could be quickly accessed during a crisis. The Hub keeps basic-need items stocked and ready for families and community requests when an immediate need arises. Built on the power of partnership, the Hub is open to local organizations and agencies working together to connect people with the right resources at the right time.
FEED THE KIDZ
Feed the Kidz is our partnership-driven approach to helping address food insecurity. When opportunities arise, we integrate them into our work—volunteering as a team alongside community partners, developing solutions that can grow beyond Hike Kidz, and providing food assistance to families experiencing crisis. We have successfully developed and launched a food program that has since changed hands, allowing the work to continue in the community. Our Community Agency Hub also serves as a holding station for shelf-stable food, helping us respond when families and community partners identify an immediate need.

Hike Kidz Foundation is building a dedicated team of volunteers who are passionate about meeting the basic needs of local children and families.
Much of our work involves families experiencing housing instability, financial hardship, or an immediate crisis. That means volunteering with Hike Kidz requires more than a willingness to help. It requires compassion, reliability, discretion, respect for privacy, and a commitment to preserving the dignity of every family we serve.
Our volunteers work alongside our Executive Director to operate programs, manage resources, support community outreach, and help strengthen the organization behind the scenes.
