How the Grace Fund works
The Grace fund will fund the immediate crisis needs of emergency shelter for a guardian and child(ren). This fund makes it possible to keep the child(ren) with the parent, as Warren County does not have a shelter for children at this time. At this time, the guardian and child(ren) would be separated.
This is a 48 hour fund is available through a referral from the WCPS, Front Royal Police Department, Warren County Sheriffs Department, First Baptist Church of Front Royal, and the Department of Social Services to Hike Kidz Foundation directly. Hike Kidz Foundation works with local Hotels and Property Managers to establish discounted rates and systems to quickly accommodate this situation. The guardian may also reach out directly on our website. The intake form is sent immediately to our in house Community Resource Advocate for crisis response.
Once the family is is placed into emergency shelter, resources are provided and referrals are made. The Grace Fund is a fund to cover a 48 hour stay. The Grace Fund program, provides specialized guidance and support to get the family as many resources as possible within our community and organization.
If you are in need of shelter, facing homelessness, nearing eviction, do not wait to get help. There are resources available to you.
Do not be afraid to ask for help. There are options.
