Our area is thriving with community engagement, volunteering and generosity.  Even in the midst of crisis we are pulling together more and more, normalizing giving and receiving when something is needed.  At the beginning of 2025 we made a goal to learn the needs of OUR local community and to help remove barriers and fill the gaps.  We have found a serious gap that needs addressed but there is no time to fix the larger problem right now.  We have no doubt that the community will, for now, we need to make sure that we do everything we can to prepare for children to stay with the parent or parents with heat, when there is no where to go.  The Grace Fund is an immediate relief plan until the family/children are able to enroll into one of the local programs available to them. This is a process.  It is vital to keep the children with the parents and in safe conditions while in crisis.  The Grace Fund is for crisis shelter, heat in vehicles and heat in a home when assistance isn't available that day.  Until our community has an active and functioning Women's & Children's shelter and a place for parents to be with the children in immediate need, we must have a plan.  We must be able to give a small grace period to safety.  Our first partner, The Doubletree by Hilton has helped us pave the way including helping us with this charity golf tournament.  We are thankful for that support and kindness. Thank you for your support and when these calls come in, in the cold, this fund will get them through to the next solution with one of our local organizations.
