The Hike Kidz Foundation invites you to consider partnering in support to finish "The Glass Slipper" project. The Glass Slipper falls directly in line with our mission to provide equal opportunity to thrive which means enriching the lives of our local children in need. This is a very special opportunity, including being a part of historical perseveration. We have gathered the items needed in order to have the project completed and ready for the upcoming community formal events, including Prom.

about the glass slipper

The Glass Slipper is a project of WCPS Special Services Department which provides formalwear for young people who find the cost of going to homecoming or the prom overwhelming. We have donations of dresses, men's wear, shoes, and accessories.

The idea of the Glass Slipper came in 2010.  Concerned about how many students might not get the opportunity to enjoy the experiences of formal events due to cost, the original “Fairy Godmothers”  (Pam Waters, Jackie Jenkins, Tara Smith and Sheri Mitchell) thought that creating an option was crucial. With the support of then Superintendent Pam McGuiness and the school board at the time, The Glass Slipper was opened for prom season 2011.

The Glass Slipper has been honored to have had many community businesses, friends and volunteers who have pitched in wherever they have been needed over the years. Currently, the Fairy Godmothers of the Glass Slipper are hoping to revitalize the space and add some much needed items to help our students experience the magic of the special events in the coming years. - Joanna McCue-Martin WCPS Special Services Department

The photos show the impressive amount of donated items to keep this resource thriving.  You can also see the opportunity to create a magical space, providing that special feeling and memory the children need.

who will be able to use the glass slipper?

All students of Warren County that cannot afford the cost of formal wear may contact this service to schedule once open. Private schools are not excluded. The ARC also has access to this space and resource.

how will the community know it is availble?

Once the space is ready, reels and announcements will be released.  Participants must schedule a time in advance.
